Top Experiences in Maui: Our 5 Favorites

Maui is an island full of wonder, beauty and good vibes. Aloha flows throughout Maui, creating an atmosphere of hula (fun), ‘ohana (family), aloha (romance), and kūlana (adventure). If you’re looking for an unforgettable vacation, you’ve chosen wisely. Maui is and always has been the place to visit and explore.

You can do so many things in Maui. From riding the waves on a surfboard, connecting to the Hawaiian tradition of ka he’enalu (surfing), to going whale watching and catching a glimpse of the enormous, graceful creatures, there is something for everybody on Maui.

Here is our list of the top experiences on Maui.

A Traditional Hawaiian Outrigger Experience

Paddling a Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe is a must during your time on Maui. The ride is not only relaxing, family-friendly and fun, but, you’ll also learn so much about Hawaiian history and culture.

These canoes first arrived in the Hawaiian islands around 200 AD. They were filled with items like water, animals and supplies to support nā mea huli (explorers) on their journeys in the ocean. Since then, these canoes have become a precious symbol of both Hawaiian culture and Hawaiians connection to and respect for the ocean.

On our Hawaiian Outrigger Experience, you will learn about the occupation of Hawaii and the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy, participate in traditional Hawaiian nā mele (chants), and paddle through Turtle Town. The ride is a truly remarkable experience that will leave you in awe and appreciation of the rich culture and beauty of the islands.
